  2. Region scaling: value × incomeRatios[region] (province avg income ÷ national avg $63,181).
  3. Individual view: value ÷ √(avg household size = 2), the StatCan/OECD square-root equivalence scale.
  4. Percentile bands (10/25/75/90) derived from each age's median via the log-normal fit: value = median · exp(σ·z(p)), σ = ln(2.0)/1.2816.
  5. Your ‘You’ dot is plotted at (your age, your income); your percentile = valueToPercentile(your income, median at your age).

Assumptions

  • Series starts at age 21 (younger ages excluded: students / partial workforce).
  • Individual view uses a fixed average household size of 2, not a per-user value.
  • Bands assume a log-normal shape with p90/median ≈ 2.0 at every age.

  2. Between anchors: geometric (CAGR) interpolation, value = A·(B/A)^t. Outside anchors: extrapolate at the nearest interval's per-year rate.
  3. Region scaling: value × netWorthRatios[region] (province median net worth ÷ national median $519,700).
  4. Individual view: value ÷ √2 (square-root equivalence).
